In the gently rolling hills of southwestern Indiana, Lake Rudolph campground conveniently sits right next door to Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. The majority of visitors are families here to enjoy the theme parks, so don’t be surprised to see lots of kids running around. (Quiet time is strictly enforced between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.) The campground includes a playground, pool, organized kids activities, mini golf, an ice cream-pizza stand and a game room. Seasonal peddle boat, kayak and rowboat rentals are available.

The 400-square-foot Christmas Cabins that opened in 2011 are adorable and feel like woodsy little condos with full kitchens and sleeping lofts (nightly rates from $155). Those who prefer to camp can choose from 465 sites that include tent spots, air-conditioned cabins with showers and cable, and rentable RVs. A king-size RV sleeps eight and comes equipped with a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave and a small dining area.

Free shuttle service runs back and forth to Holiday World, delivering guests to the front entrance in just five minutes, and saving visitors the hassle of parking.
