There's nearly always a line snaking out of this old-fashioned soda shop in Ephraim with the red-and-white striped awning. Who can resist? Wilson's has been a Door County landmark since 1906, thanks to the winning combination of ice cream and a primo setting right across from Ephraim's scenic Eagle Harbor. It's a nostalgic stop for many patrons who grew up vacationing in Door County, eating Wilson's ice cream cones with a jelly bean in the bottom to catch drips.There's a lengthy menu of ice cream flavors and specialties, including sundaes, malts, milk shakes and root beer floats made with their home-brewed draft. (Most items cost $4-$8.) Meals are traditional char-broiled burger and fries ($6.25 and up), along with a homemade soup of the day ($3.95 a bowl) and some tasty sandwiches (about $8) like Reubens and chicken salad. Wilson's is open May through October.
