Editor's Review

Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa, got a bit cozier with the opening of the $22 million Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.

The 3,000-foot-long lighted span links the cities, soaring 52 feet above the Missouri River. The pedestrian bridge, one of the world's longest, is the first bridge between two U.S. states built specifically for pedestrians. Twin towers and a cable design mark it as an instant icon. On the Nebraska side you'll find the 3-acre Omaha Plaza with a play area and water feature. The bridge is lit at night.
