410 E. Broadway St.
Alton Illinois 62002United States
Situated above a stained-glass shop, this inn is in the thick of shopping and dining in downtown Alton.
Shoppers will like the location of this inn, situated amid the antiques shops and other stores on Broadway Street, Alton's main drag. From here, you could easily spend the day shopping and enjoying Alton's great restaurants without ever having to get in the car. The inn's rooms, all with queen beds, are comfortable, but nothing particularly special. Ceilings seem low, so some might find the rooms a bit claustrophobic--especially the guest room without any windows. The inn's best amenity is the second-floor outdoor garden, a hideaway with mature trees, paper lanterns strung overhead, a hammock and a tall privacy fence. There's a tiny peek at the river from one corner. It's a great spot to settle in with a book or a bottle of wine with friends. The innkeeper is the owner of the Alton Stained Glass Works shop downstairs.
