Yes, it's the bookstore chain we all know, but this location may be its most beautiful anywhere. Housed in the former Chateau Theatre, Barnes and Noble kept the movie house's 1927 castle facade, night-sky ceiling and flashing sunburst marquee. The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota calls it the state's "last and best example of atmospheric theater." In other words, it's a much more interesting place to browse for books than the local mall.
