This dining destination provides Indy's first entry into open-air rooftop dining.
Owner Jeff Dunaway has been around the Indy restaurant scene and knows what works. He shows this clearly in the diverse menu and contemporary feel of Dunaways Palazzo Ossigeno. The menu offers a diverse array of appetizers, salads, seafood, sandwiches and desserts and a dinner menu filled with specials like hand-shucked sea scallops with truffled risotto ($32). Our lunchtime visit included a wild mushroom salad overflowing with a diverse blend of mushrooms ($8) and the house favorite chicken pesto panini ($10). We finished off with a white-chocolate banana-cream pie, which was actually a 4-inch tower wrapped in a paper-thin pistachio crust. All of it was delicious. Located in the 1930 Indiana Oxygen building, the restaurant plays off a lot of the old architecture. The unpretentious Art Deco style includes the glass panels and office doors from the former Indiana Oxygen owners. The restaurant also features Indy's first open-air rooftop restaurant.
