701 South Broadway
Saint Louis Missouri 63102United States
One of the trio of jazz and blues joints along this stretch of Broadway, this is an intimate venue where you'll listen to music just a few feet from the stage.
To say that Beale on Broadway is small would be an understatement (you're just three feet from the stage when you walk in the door), but it's a great space with exposed brick walls and hardwood floors inside a historic building. The crowd overflows onto an outdoor patio where strung-up brown beer bottles glow with white lights. Step in here and you might catch a big act like Junior Brown or Grammy-nominated guitarist Bill Kirchen, or you might hear a local band, but it will always be something good. And the music keeps going until 3 a.m., so you can make Beale your last stop along the jazz and blues triad on Broadway. The venue may be small, but the beer selection isn't, with 14 craft brews on tap. If you're hungry, though, you're out of luck, as Beale doesn't have a kitchen. There is a cover charge at the door.
