Ingredients

  • Butter or margarine
  • 2 1-inch diagonally-cut slices Italian bread
  • 3 slices cooked ham (3 ounces)
  • 1/4-1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • 10 slices pepperoni
  • 3/4 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 2 thick slices mozzarella cheese (2 ounces)

Directions

  1. Lightly butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the bread, buttered side down, until browned.
  3. To assemble, place 1 slice of bread, buttered side down, on a microwave-safe plate. Top with ham, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mushrooms, then cheese. Top with remaining slice of bread, browned side up.
  4. Microcook on 100 percent power (high) about 2 minutes or until cheese melts. (Or melt the cheese under the broiler.) Makes 1 sandwich.
