Midwest Living Review
Sipping wine here on the covered patio overlooking the Loup River Valley is a lovely way to pass an afternoon. With rows of grapes and hundreds of acres of rolling green land to view, there's not much to distract from the moment, or from the vino. More than 10 wine varieties (about $15 per bottle) are available, including the popular Edelwiess (a sweet white) and Workhorse (a semisweet red) we enjoyed -- both were sweet and fruity. Others include rich Loup River Red, fruity white Brianna and a peach-flavor Prairie Blush. The winery, open since 2007 and located about 4 miles north of St. Paul, is an easy drive north from Grand Island. Check the online calendar for descriptions of upcoming bands and special events, including the wine and meal pairings on the third Friday of each month. The winery is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
