What to do with White Walls
With a few brush strokes and a dose of courage, you can revitalize the interior of your home. By using a rainbow or colors you can personalize every wall inside your home.
This suburban Chicago home has been through several home improvement projects. During the mid-1980s the wallpaper was replaced with white walls. A 1987 remodeling project added much-needed living spaces, including a family room, dining area and new kitchen. But the walls remained stark white. Then, one dreary day in the middle of a Midwest winter, the color conversion began. The homeowners bought a can of bright-chartreuse paint and brushed a back hallway wall with brilliant color.
They added walls of cerise and turquoise, so the rooms in the house complemented artwork as well as playing off the white molding details.
It's very graphic. In many parts of the house you can stand in one place and see a spectrum of color.
