Here's how to give our White Christmas Peppermint Layer Cake a woodland makeover. Melt white chocolate or candy melts following package directions. (We like Ghirardelli’s new melting wafers for their rich flavor.) Using a piping bag or resealable plastic bag with the corner snipped off, “draw” trees on waxed or parchment paper. (Make extras in case some break.) Dust with crushed candy cane and chill to harden. Using a thin spatula, carefully lift trees and stick them to the freshly frosted cake. Sprinkle more crushed candy cane on top of the cake.
