Timesaver from the Test Kitchen:

For the chowder, substitute 1/2 cup frozen diced hash brown potatoes for the fresh potato; and use precooked sliced bacon for the cooked bacon pieces.

  • 1 10-ounce package frozen whole kernel corn
  • 1 potato
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bunch seedless green grapes
  • 1 quart fat-free milk
  • 1 package sliced bacon
  • 4 cooked smoked sausage links
