Your Menu: Serves 6

Wild Rice and Fish Chowder

  • Crusty French or Italian bread
  • Cantaloupe and/or honeydew melon wedges

Praline Crusted Cheesecake

  • White wine

Store any remaining cheesecake in the refrigerator up to 5 days or wrap and freeze up to 1 month (thaw in the refrigerator before serving).

Shopping List:

For Chowder

  • 8 ounces fresh or frozen skinless whitefish fillets
  • 1 package uncooked wild rice
  • 1 bunch celery
  • 1 onion
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 14-ounce can vegetable broth (or use water)
  • 1 potato
  • 1 bottle cream sherry
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 package fresh thyme (or use dried thyme)
  • 1 container Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 8-ounce package sliced bacon
  • 2 8-ounce cartons whipping cream or 1 pint half-and-half or light cream
  • 1 bunch fresh basil
  • 1 bunch fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 loaf crusty French or Italian bread
  • 1 cantaloupe or honeydew melon (or both)
  • 1 bottle desired white wine

For Cheesecake

  • 1 package pecan shortbread cookies
  • 1 package pecan pieces
  • 1 pound butter (also in above list)
  • 3 8-ounce packages cream cheese
  • 1 8-ounce tub mascarpone cheese
  • 1 8-ounce carton whipping cream
  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1 lemon
