Holiday Turkey and Cranberry-Apple Stuffing Meal (Serves 12 to 14)

Thanksgiving is upon us once again and it's time to cook up a magnificent feast for your family. Here's a menu to get you started.

  • Holiday Turkey
  • Cranberry-Apple Stuffing
  • Dinner rolls
  • Pear Salad
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Ice water with lime and cranberries

Test Kitchen Tips: For an easy pear salad, slice fresh or canned pears and fan over purchased mixed greens or spinach. Drizzle each salad with purchased balsamic vinaigrette dressing and sprinkle with purchased glazed walnuts or almonds.

To dry bread for stuffing, spread cubes in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. Cover with waxed paper and let stand overnight or bake in a 325 degree F oven for 10 minutes until dry.

  • 1, 14- to 16-pound turkey
  • 1, 14-ounce can chicken broth
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 bunch grapes, kumquats, and/or 1 pkg. desired fresh herbs (optional)
  • 2 packages (12 each) brown-and-serve dinner rolls
  • 12 ounces mixed salad greens or fresh spinach
  • 6 fresh pears or 1 29-ounce can pear halves
  • 1 bottle balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing
  • 2, 3.75-ounce packages glazed sliced almonds or 1 8-ounce package glazed walnuts
  • 2 bakery pumpkin pies (or make your favorite recipe pumpkin pie)
  • 2 limes
  • 1, 12-ounce package fresh cranberries

Pantry Items

  • kosher salt
  • black peppercorns

Shopping List For Dressing

  • 1 pound butter
  • 1 bunch celery
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 pan purchased bakery cornbread (or prepare using an 8,5-ounce package corn muffin mix)
  • 1 loaf sliced white or wheat bread
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1, 6-ounce package dried cranberries or cherries or 1 12-ounce package raisins
  • 1 package fresh sage (or 1 container dried leaf sage)
  • 1 package fresh thyme (or 1 container dried thyme)
  • 1, 32-ounce box chicken broth

Pantry Items

  • ground black pepper
