Purchase soft bread sticks in the bakery aisle of the grocery store.
When selecting apples for baking, look for Rome, Granny Smith, Jonathan, or Macintosh. Your supermarket may also carry some locally grown varieties. Check with the produce manager on recommendations for a variety that is good for baking.

- 1 package fresh oregano or 1 container dried oregano
- 115-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 1 1 1/4- to 1 1/2-ounce envelope spaghetti sauce mix
- 8 ounces dried lasagna noodles
- 1 large container cream-style cottage cheese
- 1 dozen eggs
- 12 ounces sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 wedge Parmesan cheese or 1 can grated Parmesan cheese
