To prepare pan-grilled asparagus, toss trimmed asparagus spears with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Add asparagus spears and grill for 5 to 7 minutes or until crisp-tender, turning occasionally.
