Your Menu: Serves 6

Slimmer, Trimmer Meat Loaf
No-Guilt Sundae
Water with lemon slices

 
Test Kitchen Tip:

The chocolate sauce for the sundae will store in the refrigerator up to 1 week. It's also good drizzled over angel food cake slices.

Shopping List:

For Meat Loaf

  • 1 carton refrigerated or frozen egg product or 1 dozen eggs
  • 1 package saltine crackers
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bottle reduced-sodium ketchup or ketchup
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground turkey
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 6 medium carrots
  • 1 14-ounce can reduced sodium beef broth
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 lemon

For Sundae

  • 1 6- or 12-ounce container frozen apple juice or white grape juice concentrate
  • 1 container unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 bottle honey
  • 1 pint low-fat frozen yogurt (desired flavor)
  • 1 container fresh strawberries, blueberries, and/or pears
  • 1 package fresh mint

Pantry Items:

For Meat Loaf

  • poultry seasoning or ground sage (optional)
  • ground black pepper
  • cornstarch

For Sundae

  • vanilla (or use flavored liqueur)
