Cut your prep time by using refrigerated mashed potatoes; buy 2 packages to be sure to have enough.

To steam green beans, wash the beans. Remove ends and strings. Place a steamer basket in a very large skillet. Add water to just below the basket. Bring water to boiling; reduce heat. Add beans to basket. Cover and steam for 15 minutes or until crisp-tender.

Prepare the cakes and raspberry sauce up to 24 hours ahead and chill. Reheat the cakes according to recipe.
