Decorating with Spring Pastels

This spring, I’ve noticed that my favorite egg-decorating pastels from my childhood aren’t just showing up in the seasonal decor aisle. Cotton-candy pink, delicious mint and sweet lavender have made their way into the fashion and home decor worlds. I’m loving how these soft palettes look refreshing and sophisticated on pillows, dishware, lamps and accent furniture available at many mass retailers.

Here are some pastel-color pieces that would look sweet in a kitchen, eating area, bedroom or any room where you need a little color pick-me-up. Just be sure to stick to one or two pastels in a room; too many can create a cutesy (think kid's room) or chaotic effect. And save the multicolor mix for your Easter basket.

Lavender upholstery wakes up this traditional weathered-oak Chesterfield Bench, $799, from Wisteria.

Mint softens the graphic Little Geometry Pillow, $45, from Ferm Living.

A light pink vase brings subtle feminine-style flair, $5.95, from H&M.

The Willa Mint Side Chair makes a classic Windsor chair look fresh, $149, from Crate & Barrel.

A metallic base and finial add elegance to the graceful Bungalow 5 Melrose Pink Table Lamp, $481, from Layla Grayce.
